Carmen :Hi Ferina. How are you?
Ferina : I am good, what about you?
Carmen : Me too.
Ferina : Where is Ega?
Carmen : In library.
Ferina : What is she doing?
Carmen : She wanted to borrow a book at the library.
Ferina : Are you Hungry?
Carmen : Yes, I am.
Ferina : Do you want to go to the canteen with me?

Parts of Speech ( Noun and Pronoun)

1. Noun (Kata Benda)
    Noun is a word ( other than a pronoun) used to identify any of a class of people, places, animals, things, or ideas.

A. Concrete Noun
     A concrete noun is a noun that can be identified through one ( or more) of the five senses ( taste,
     touch, sight, hearing, or smell)
     Example: Banana, house, book, phone.
B. Abstract Noun
     Abstract noun that is a noun that cannot be seen with the five senses.
     Example: Love, freedom, happiness, power,hate.
C. Common Noun
     Common nouns are words for people, places, animal and things.
     Example:
  • People: Police
  • Place: Airport
  • Animal: Cat, dog
  • Things: Table, Chair
D. Proper Noun
     Proper nouns are names for particular people, places and things. They always begin with a capital letter.
     Example:
  • People: Muhammad, Ali
  • Things: Monday, January.
  • Special events: Lebaran, Christmas, Mother's day.
  • Places: Indonesia, Toba Lake.
2. Pronoun (Kata Ganti Benda)
    pronoun are words that are used to replace nouns, these nouns can be human, animal, place, and
    abstract concepts.
    Example:
  • Subject pronoun: I, You, He, She, It, We, They.
  • Object Pronoun: me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
Notes:
  1. The person who is speaking is called the first person.
  2. The one spoken to is called the second person.
  3. The one spoken about is called the third person.
